Classic Elements

Herman Miller / Geiger International

Herman Miller and Geiger International are respected leaders in the commercial furniture industry, and both engaged Grant Design Collaborative at critical junctures in their growth. When the producer of such classics as the Eames Lounge and Aeron Chairs, Herman Miller, launched an exclusive sales program focused on architects and designers, they retained Grant as their strategy and design partner to create memorable graphics for holiday greetings and event graphics to product launches and more. After acquiring Geiger, Herman Miller called upon our team a few years later for a complete brand strategy and image overhaul; including elements of identity, showrooms, advertising, collateral and product design initiatives to refine their finishes and color palettes.

Nesting Instincts

Walden Community and Resort / CF Stinson

When it comes to brand messaging, Grant Design Collaborative knows trust is everything. For Walden, a residential community and Inn located in Aurora, Ohio, Grant conducted a comprehensive brand audit and interviewed homeowners and guests to refine the brand’s essence as “grassroots luxury.” The everyday comfort of living or staying at Walden was communicated through a branded narrative and inviting photography. For CF Stinson commercial textiles, Grant articulated the brand messages into three core attributes: inspire, inquire and desire. The strategy communicated Stinson’s legacy of innovation, design and service. A new brand identity and messaging components were launched in a unique ad and marketing campaign to appeal to interior designers and architects.

Design Applications

ACT / Jaipur

The Association for Contract Textiles (ACT) retained Grant Design Collaborative to increase its awareness among millennials, and we responded with an identity update, an ACT Now! advertising campaign, and a mobile app that featured performance guidelines, glossary of textile terms and web links to all ACT members. Grant has also applied its design thinking and pattern development to create several product collections for Jaipur Rugs, including the top selling rug design in the company’s history. Grant Design Collaborative’s full range of product design for Jaipur can be viewed here: Jaipur – Grant Collection

From a strategic brand road map to interior design and environmental graphics for their new headquarters, Grant works closely with Benson’s senior management to fuel their ongoing success. High-end furniture manufacturer, Decca, retained Grant to rebrand and align its four US divisions. Comprehensive marketing support of the brands has included identity design, showroom consultation, catalogs, website design, public relations and social media.

Colorfully Refreshed

Ocean House Resort / Benefit Recycled Paper System

Both Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island and the Benefit Recycled Paper System shared a colorful past, and these clients retained Grant Design Collaborative to refresh their brand and product strategy for future generations. Ocean House, an iconic New England seaside resort, was meticulously reconstructed to offer timeless elegance and renewed civility. Travel and Leisure honored the brand as the #1 Resort in the USA in 2014. Benefit was the first recycled paper system in the commercial marketplace and was known for its fashionable color palette. International Paper and Smart Papers entrusted the Grant team with developing new colors, finishes, swatch books and marketing materials for the innovative text and cover line.
